by stirring winds, we're stronger now. roots interlaced, connected earth. did you hear it? song for the dead echoing far. fire after fire—we will come back in contempt of blackened ground. do you hear us?

I grew up a tree but the wind stopped making music for me. I was not stirred. Spoke to the hurricanes and called to tornadoes. Not one gust was given.
