Well, hi! It’s been a while.
Other writerly work (poetry, copywriting, my VOWS lol I’m married now!) distracted me. Now that I’m in between poetry books and no longer planning the wedding of my dreams, I figured I could dedicate time to blogging/blurbing again. I landed on the perfect idea.
I want to write about daily goals and glimmers.
Goal setting isn’t new to me, but it’s something I’d like to explore in a more fun way. That said, the goals I’m setting for myself are all fun and achievable and necessary for the betterment of my physical/mental health. Some of my goals are things I don’t often take advantage of while working from home, like taking short walks outside to get fresh air and sun. Some of the goals are more structured, like getting into the gym 4–5x a week or drinking 64oz of water every day. I feel like writing about them on a public forum will encourage me to stick to what I’ve set.
Glimmers, on the other hand, are a new concept to me. They are positive, bite-sized moments that should be acknowledged, celebrated, and filled with gratitude. Think: singing along in the car to music that makes you feel something. Going out with the sole purpose of grabbing your favorite Starbucks drink. Watching a thunderstorm from your porch. Buying flowers just because. I love these glimmers. Not only do I want to pay attention to them, I need to really revel in them. Often, I feel bored during the in-betweens of life when the next big event or excursion isn’t on the immediate horizon. Thinking and writing about these glimmers will be a great way to remind myself that every day is worthwhile. Perhaps I’ll inspire one of my readers to think this way, too!
