A quick little (creativity-infused) guide to keep in your back pocket when things feel overwhelming.


  • Take deep breaths and count to 10

  • Exercise: walk, do jumping jacks, squats, jog, workout video, weight training, etc.

  • Listen to music

  • Sing and dance

  • Journal!!! Daily thoughts, gratitude, poetry, etc.

  • Read

  • Touch grass, sit in the sun, soak up the rain

  • Call a loved one

  • Meditate or general mindfulness

  • Do anything that feels creative (draw, paint, collage, etc.)

  • Watch something lighthearted

  • Get. Off. Your. Screens.

  • Spend quality time with loved ones

  • Shower

  • Visualize a safe space

  • Intimacy

  • Self-care (wash your face, paint your nails, etc.)

  • Drink water

  • Stretch

  • Eat a nourishing snack or meal

  • Drive

  • Clean/de-clutter

  • Rest
