Writing Prompts: August 2025

The last official month of summer is here! Take some time to honor your creativity. Write, reflect, and have fun! Life is meant to be whimsical, especially in the summertime.

Here are your August prompts:

• August 32 just got added to the calendar. What will you do with the extra day this summer?

• You work at a paint store. This season, blue is really in. Come up with names for the five best-selling shades of blue and describe them in all their azure glory.

• Listen exclusively to classical music today. Describe the impact it had on your mind and your productivity. 

• You’re walking towards your gate at the airport, and then you freeze. You’ve gotten through security, you have your luggage and passport in hand, but something feels off. What have you forgotten? 

• Cast a spell that brings on summer thunderstorms.
